Make your data work for you
Most businesses have more data than they use. It sits in spreadsheets, old databases and separate systems that don't agree with each other. Reports take hours, figures don't match, and nobody is sure which copy is right.
We design databases that keep your information in one organised place, tune the ones you have so they run faster, and move data safely between systems. We work with SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MongoDB, and recommend the one that suits your data and the tools you already use.
When you have a lot of data, or data from many sources, a platform such as Databricks brings it together for reporting and analysis. Our team includes a Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional. We set up the pipelines, checks and dashboards that turn raw data into figures you can trust.
We also set up monitoring with tools such as Grafana, so you can see problems, like a database running out of space, before they affect your users.

Included
What's included
Database design: tables and rules that match how your business works, so data stays accurate
SQL development and query tuning: faster reports and screens, found by measuring what is slow
PostgreSQL and SQL Server: setup, upgrades and support
Moving data between systems: from spreadsheets or an old system, with the figures checked on both sides
Data pipelines and analytics on Databricks
Dashboards and reports: clear views of the figures your team checks every day
Monitoring: alerts and dashboards that warn you before small problems become serious
Backup and recovery planning: regular backups, and checks that you can restore from them
Technologies we use
Is it right for you?
A good fit if
- Your business runs on spreadsheets that are getting hard to manage
- Reports take too long, or the figures don't match between systems
- Your database or application has slowed down as your data has grown
- You have data in several places and want one view of it
Maybe not if
- You have a small amount of data and a spreadsheet still works well
- You need a one-off chart rather than a lasting fix
- You want a large data platform before the basics, like clean and consistent data, are in place. We'd usually start there
Process
How we work
Talk
We listen first. A short call to understand what you need and what success looks like.
Plan
We agree scope, timeline and cost in writing before work starts.
Build
We build in stages and show you progress along the way.
Support
After launch we stay available for fixes, updates and improvements.
Which database is right for us?
It depends on your data and how you use it. We recommend one after a short review.
Can you fix a slow database?
Often, yes. We start by finding out what's slowing it down.
Can you move us off spreadsheets?
Yes. We design a database around how you work and move your data across.
SQL Server or PostgreSQL: which is better?
Both are reliable. SQL Server fits well if you already use Microsoft tools and licences. PostgreSQL is free and open source, and runs on any cloud. We look at what you have and what you need before recommending one.
What is Databricks?
It's a platform for working with large amounts of data. It brings data from many sources into one place, so you can clean it, report on it and use it for analysis or AI. See Databricks Data Engineering for more.
Do we need Databricks?
Only if you have a lot of data, many sources or plans for analytics and AI. For many businesses, a well-designed SQL Server or PostgreSQL database is enough. We'll tell you which fits.
Can you build dashboards for us?
Yes. We build dashboards that show the figures your team checks every day, fed from data that is kept up to date automatically.
